It’s still early days for glitches in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but one glitch sees Link teaching an NPC how to fly.
You could easily argue that glitches and weird locomotive technology are the basis of Breath of the Wild. That’s why the game has such an insane pace, it’s under 24 minutes now. But Tears of the Kingdom is out in less than a week, so any glitches that have been discovered haven’t yet proven their worth (even if the speedrunners are starting to set records). We do know that there are some useful glitches, such as the replication glitch that is destroying Hyrule’s economy. However, there were some very interesting glitches – one of which caused NPCs to be shot skyward at breakneck speed.
This particular glitch was discovered by Daniel Néia, who shared several clips of actual glitches involving Ultrahand usage.this first clip See Néia merging her homemade wagon with a rock, with a Gerudo woman in the middle. Once the two objects are fused together, it will fly aside, taking the Gerudo NPC with it.
In the second clip, Néia again uses the Ultrahand to surround the NPC with six pieces of wood, then rotates the wood to its side, which causes it and the NPC to fly into the sky. Really reminds me of those early breath of the wild speedruns where they used stasis and slates to send Link flying. Judging by the speed at which it fires, this could be useful speedrunning, but again, it’s too soon to tell.
If you’re worried about NPCs disappearing for good, don’t because they’re coming back soon, so now you can bully them like everyone bullied (and later crucified) the Koroks.
