In the latest example of people being mean to the Koroks, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has begun torturing poor woodland critters.
Listen, I know not everyone is a fan of the Koroks in Breath of the Wild – they’re sneaky little villains who literally hand you a doodoo when you manage to catch one. There are about 900 of them! I get it. But the way you bully them is getting more and more violent. I have been laughing at them, so don’t mention it. Now look what you have done. You are crucifying them!
Yes, you read that right, Hyrule’s current practice is to crucify Crox. “How did this start?” you may ask me, and I honestly don’t know. Religion obviously exists in the world of Hyrule, but I’m pretty confident I haven’t found any books that mention someone crucified. Even so, players can’t seem to stop crucifying Koroks, an obvious follow-up to attaching them to minecarts and launching them into the sky with rockets.
In fact, some players, like IsaacPR95, are combining rockets with crosses to send a Korok to heaven (it’s also a really cool trick shot that legitimately gets them a Korok seed).

Some even started making fanart in memory of poor Koroks.
Not every Tear of Kingdoms player is a bully, though – some people put their skills to good use by making some pretty hilarious creations. Then everyone else just made Link do something absolutely obscene (but definitely NSFW) that wasn’t funny at all.
