1 Entertainment and Koch media have put together a Q&A video that answers some of the most frequently asked questions from fans.
King’s Bounty II Devs Answer Fan Questions
Developer 1C Entertainment is still working on the upcoming tactical RPG King’s Bounty II, but while development is still going, have made a video that answers fan questions about the game.
One of the questions asked was about the genre of the game, Igor Khudaev the lead narrative designer, shared that it is “high fantasy but with some realistic elements”. The reason for this choice was that it was a better fit storywise and more suitable for the 12+ rating instead of dark fantasy.
As for races, there is quite the mix, with undead, dragons, trolls, humans, and more. Within these races there are 2 or more factions, each with their own unique fighting style. The example given is the Royal Guard who are more defensive, while Bandits are more offensive.
So far King’s Bounty II will be purely a single-player game, as the way it has been developed is for a fully immersive RPG. However, according to producer Denis Maltzev, the studio wouldn’t say no to a separate arena mode, but it won’t be releasing upon the launch of the game.

King’s Bounty II offers tactical turn-based battles to offer players a truly immersive RPG experience. Players will need to weigh their decisions as each will have an impact. Whether it’s leading an army into battle against unliving horrors or building relationships with local townsfolk. Bounty II will mix realism and fantasy, providing a compelling story, memorable characters and moral decisions.
Previously the developer shared that the game will introduce Hex-based battles, set to play across a 3-dimensional battlefield with open-world setting, adding a sense of fluidity between combat and exploration, as well as adding further decisions to terrain placement as this will also play its part. The way armies are set up has also changed with unit limits, encouraging players to alter their army base to match the task at hand.
King’s Bounty II will be coming to Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
