The recently announced Kirby’s Dream Buffet is coming very soon. Now we know more precisely what awaits us in terms of play.
Kirby’s Dream Buffet, which was only announced a few weeks ago, finally has a release date. After the multiplayer title was initially only confirmed for the summer, we now know that it will be released next week, on August 17th.
Nintendo now also specified the gameplay more closely. Assuming it’s primarily a racing game, we now know that races are just one of three differently designed rounds, at the end of which the winner is the one who fed their Kirby with the most strawberries in the roundest way.
Up to four players compete against each other in these three competitions. In races, you can use candy to obtain various power-ups that will give you an advantage over your opponents. The second type of game is about mini-games, in which you have to eat as many strawberries as the time limit allows. The finale is called Battle Royale. The round Kirbys are trying to push themselves out of an arena and steal all the hard-earned strawberries from their fellow players.
Depending on your success, you can unlock costumes and color variants as well as other customization items. Even new levels can be unlocked. Local multiplayer for two on one console will also be possible, as well as four-player matches with one console each and online games. Kirby’s Dream Buffet will only be available on Nintendo eShop.
