Kirby’s Return to Dream Deluxe Edition finally arrives on Nintendo Switch in late February. Not only has the game received a Switch-friendly overhaul, but Pink Puff Kirby has secured himself some brand new copyable abilities.

Watch the trailer for Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe here.

I created Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe as the Kirby co-op game for Switch we all need and deserve, and while I may not be jumping right into it, I’m happy to be able to quit this game anytime I have friends over to experiment with I’m all the more excited to know that when I start playing the game, there will be something new to delight me with.

Announced on the Nintendo UK Twitter account, Kirby will be getting a new sandbox duplication ability (cue Chordette’s Mr. Sandman). When affected by sand, Kirby can sculpt various shapes to fight enemies, and Nintendo images show Kirby manipulating sand into castles and fists.

That’s not all, Nintendo is soon to follow, and Kirby will also be granted festive copy abilities. A special treat for longtime Kirby fans, the festive ability is borrowed from previous Kirby games, Kirby Star Allies. This ability will allow Kirby to dance with his friend Minna and turn his enemies into useful items!

Now, here’s hoping some of Kirby’s cool replicating abilities from Kirby and Forgotten Land find their way into Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe somehow. We already have Kirby’s key copy abilities like Sleep, Crash, Sword, etc., but wouldn’t it be nice to see Ranger and Drill Kirby also appear?

Kirby’s Return to Dream Deluxe Edition will release on Nintendo Switch on February 24th. Let us know what you think, and more importantly, which of Kirby’s copy abilities are your favorites?
