It will be a few more weeks before Knockout City appears as a full version. The anticip ation should not have diminished at Publisher Electronic Arts, because the last cross-play beta that was completed turned out to be a success.
On that test weekend from April 2nd to 4th, according to EA, more than a million interested players were already on the digital playing field to devote themselves to the dodgeball action – well before the planned release on May 21st .
But not only one million downloads were counted in the beta statistics: The gamers spent more than 116 million minutes of playing time in the title. In addition, a whopping 93.7 million viewer minutes were collected on Twitch. So here quite a few interested people watched how players learned the art of throwing, catching, passing and evading. The following beta infographic provides further details.
All players who did not have the opportunity to test the game in the cross-play beta can try Knockout City for free in the time-limited trial version starting on May 21st. This includes the complete game and will be available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Origin, Steam, Epic Games Store, and via upward compatibility on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. All game progress from the free trial will be retained for players who choose to purchase the full version of the game. Players who choose to purchase during the free trial will receive additional cosmetic rewards for their upcoming battles in Knockout City.
