With “Joker: Pas de Deux” disappointing just about everyone, grossing $206 million worldwide, less than a quarter of the first installment, it’s safe to say Lady Gaga’s latest big screen adventure didn’t turn out the way she imagined. Be successful. It will. Now, she’s in the second season of Netflix’s Wednesdays.
Entertainment Weekly dropped the news, saying she has landed a role on the show, which is still filming its second episode in Europe as we speak.

Tim Burton will direct four of the eight episodes of Wednesday’s second season, a rare move for a well-known film director to branch out into television. It’s unclear whether Gaga will appear in one (or more) of the episodes directed by Burton, like the character she plays.
Speaking of TV series, Gaga starred in the fifth season of American Horror Story, for which she won a Golden Globe. We’re not expecting the same level of success here, but after Joker 2’s disastrous theatrical release (considering its ridiculous $200 million pre-marketing tag) and even the Warner Bros. Discovery Channel, Wednesday’s surprise for the singer It might be a good “clean slate” for the actress. CEO David Zaslav brushed off the Todd Phillips-directed film during an earnings call last week.
Recently, “Wednesdays” co-creator Al Goff cited Burton’s relationship with Jenna Ortega as one of the main reasons he stuck with a second season: “He just loves the show, he loves doing it, Love working with Jenna, it was great, believe me, we were excited because I was with you and I thought he was going to be like, “I did it. “Yeah, I don’t think he does that when he’s passionate about something…that’s the thing, he’s not cynical at all.”
As for Ortega, she’s one of the emerging actresses to watch in Hollywood right now, and she’s also taking a more active role in the creative vision of the story during the production of the show’s second season. If you didn’t know, she didn’t mince words when discussing the shortcomings of the first season.
