"Into the Jungle" with its Pacific scenario was the last big chapter from Battlefield 5. Senior producer Ryan McArthur announced this in an official blog post. And even though a last content boost is announced for the summer, the post reads clearly like a farewell.

What content is still to come?

A final content update is promised in the post. Here is an overview:

  • a standalone update with new content, weapons & improvements
  • The release date is roughly June 2020
  • Weekly challenges and rewards
  • Events like the FridayNightBattlefield server should return
  • Community games (the RSP replacement) will be further expanded
  • The anti-cheat system is to be further developed

The final line for BF5

On Twitter, the developers make it clear that it goes beyond that no new content chapters will give more. In addition to the above, "no further content is planned," it says. The studio explicitly takes out new fractions, weapons and maps.

Many fans are annoyed by the inglorious end of Battlefield 5: "Is this announcement just a joke that I don't understand?" Writes a user on Twitter.

“I've never seen a studio that killed its game in such a way. You have surpassed yourself «, another player cynically adds.

Battlefield 5 was particularly noticeable in the past few months due to a lack of map replenishment, technical errors and controversial balance changes.

Is the Eastern Front still coming?

Many players suspect that the last update in June was that Eastern Front scenario with Russia as a new faction could act. This is supported, for example, by weapon names that Dataminer discovered in the game's code.

However, this is not confirmed, the developers want to announce details of the final DLC at a later date.
