Sony latest system software update game console 5 Arriving yesterday, it paves the way for compatibility with the upcoming DualSense Edge wireless controller.
That’s all it does, really. Well, it also improves system performance, but doesn’t elaborate on that part.
The version 22.02-06.50.00 update ensures that your brand new DualSense Edge wireless controller will be ready to use with your PS5 as soon as you unpack it on January 26th.
Released in August 2022, the controller features three types of interchangeable stick caps, two sets of interchangeable back buttons, and replaceable stick modules.
The controller also has several hardware- and software-based customization options that allow you to remap or disable specific button inputs. You can also fine-tune stick sensitivity and deadband, and each trigger can be tweaked via options. It also has the ability to save multiple control profiles that can be swapped on the fly.
A dedicated Fn button lets you easily adjust settings in-game, quickly switch between preset control profiles, and more. DulaSense Edge also features haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone, motion controls, and more.
If you’re interested in the controller, you’re going to have to shell out a pretty penny for it, as it’s on sale for $199.99/$239.99/£209.99. Alternatively, replaceable stick modules are available for $19.99/$24.99/£19.99.
