Familiar faces will join that wizard Season 4 actor: Laurence Fishburne.
Fishburne will star in “Baptism of Fire,” the third book in Andrei Sapkovsky’s “The Witcher Saga” series. become friends. He also appears in the fourth book, “The Swallow’s Tower” and “The Lady of the Lake,” respectively. Regis is also mentioned in The Witcher and The Witcher 3 games.
It remains to be seen whether his origin story and his role in the books will be reflected in the Netflix series.
“I’m excited to join the cast and look forward to exploring the amazing world of The Witcher,” Fishburne said in an official statement.
The prolific actor is the newest addition to the cast of Season 4, which also sees Liam Hemsworth take over from Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Also new to the series are returning cast members Freya Allen (Ciri), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Joy Beatty (Jaskier).
While not much is known about the plot of Season 4, Netflix released the following synopsis: “Following the shocking, continent-changing events at the end of Season 3, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer and Cecilia. Inside, they face a story that traverses a world. A war-torn continent and a host of divided demons. If they can embrace and lead the group of misfits they find themselves among, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of war and making it. Find each other again.
Filming for Season 4 is expected to begin in the spring, so the season will likely premiere sometime in 2025
