In June, the reinterpretation of Layers of Fear should appear, if nothing comes up. Bloober Team and Anshar Studios are slowly cranking up the hype machine.

The final date of Layers of Fear has not yet been set, but so far Bloober Team is sticking to June and confirming that the horror game is in the final stages of development. We remember: Layers of Fear already existed, along with a sequel. The new Layers of Fear is basically a reinterpretation of the first two games including their DLCs, packaged in the Unreal Engine 5.

For the developers themselves, the first part is one of the best horror games ever and they now want to make it one of the best-looking games on the market. You will soon be able to judge for yourself whether this exercise can succeed, because Bloober Team has announced a demo version of the game for PC.

But don’t expect too much, because according to the developers, the demo should only cover “the first few minutes of the game” – so you can’t expect much more than a small appetizer. The demo will only be available for a limited time. The campaign starts on May 15th at 5 p.m., on May 22nd the demo will be taken off the internet again.

Parallel to the demo, Bloober Team starts a live stream, with Creative Director Damian Kocurek and Bloober Team PR Manager Laura Bernaś. The stream will provide an “exclusive look at the game with insights from the creative director himself.”

But that’s not all of the info, because Bloober Team has now also announced the system requirements for the PC version of the game. They are comparatively moderate. The minimum requirements should be a GTX 1060 or RX 580 in your computer. Recommended for 1080p60 is a GTX 1070 for gaming without, an RTX 2070 for gaming with ray tracing. For 4K60 with ray tracing, an RTX 3080 Ti should be under the hood.

And because it’s so beautiful, there’s still something to watch at the end, because the cinematic intro of Layers of Fear was also released as visual material for the game:
