Game news League of Legends: The next champion would be on the run! rumor update
Two weeks ago, Riot Games formalized the arrival of Bel’Veth as champion, after ten years of theories of all kinds. Void Empress is already playable on the test servers and should arrive in the coming days along with the 12.11 update.
A name for the next champion?
Parallel to this announcement, Riot Games has announced its desire to accelerate the pace to avoid repeating the long wait known between Renata Glasc. For quite some time, leaks have pointed to a melee ADC dubbed Water Yasuo. League of Legends developers have confirmed that the next character will meet these criteria, without mentioning the name or abilities of this 161st champion.
The character is expected to arrive this summer following the long-awaited redesign of Udyr, whose The summer release has been confirmed. Incidentally, Riot said the work is almost complete and the team is currently focusing on it on the skin of this Udyr 2.0. The new champion stands on the side of the well-known Big Bad Bear to shoot for possible information. In a recent YouTube video, the insider hinted that the next champion would be crowned Nilah, and her launch skin would be from the Star Guardian series. The name would mean “water hyacinth”, and could fit Riot’s description in his April roadmap:
Otherwise, the Team of Champions invites you to Bill la Coquille’s Oyster Bar! Taste the best oysters in all of Runeterra while enjoying one of their owner’s great stories! In fact we just stopped by last night and the place has been turned upside down. Smashed tables, broken bottles and strange glowing puddles littering the floor. According to Bill, he is a colorful but very dangerous alien who ended up in Runeterra after crossing the oceans.
He said some Noxians were picking a fight and one of them accidentally spilled his oysters. The stranger burst out laughing happily as he got up from his seat. Confused at first, the Noxian thought the stranger was laughing at her and turned to face him. As her acolytes tried to join her, weapons barely drawn, the restaurant was suddenly filled with fog. According to Bill the Shell, all he heard was happy laughter and splashing. As the fog cleared, the ten heavily armed Noxians lay prostrate while the stranger disappeared.
Riot will likely say more soon, but in the meantime, fans are theorizing. For some community members Said to be from Shurima, Nilah wants to destroy Bel’Veth no matter what. An interesting idea that would highlight the new champion and keep Bel’Veth in the spotlight.
