Update, 29. Januar: The assumptions that Tesla will rely on AMD hardware in the future seem to be true. On Twitter, the leaker has Patrick Schur a block diagram of the supposedly used GPU posted. Accordingly, a Navi-23 chip with RDNA2 architecture is used.
This allows more precise conclusions to be drawn about performance. The largest RDNA2 chip is Navi 21 (RX 6900 / RX 6800) with up to 5,120 shader units. For the RX-6700 series, Navi 22 is assumed to have a maximum of half as many shaders. Navi 23 would have to be located one step below.
Videocardz calculates with 2,048 shaders. In order to achieve the 10 teraflops announced by Tesla, this would require very high clock rates in the range of 2,440 MHz. That could also explain why it is officially called “up to 10 teraflops”. If the hardware in the Tesla usually only achieves lower clock rates, there would usually only be a lower teraflop performance.
Memory bandwidth is also an important factor in gaming performance. Videocardz assumes 224 Gbyte / s, which would be about half as much as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. All of this suggests that Tesla’s statement about “playing in the car at the same level as the latest game consoles” should be very optimistic.
Original message, January 28: About a year ago Elon Musk asked on Twitter who would like to play The Witcher 3 on a Tesla. With almost 700,000 votes, the overwhelming majority, unsurprisingly, voted for the answer »And [wirft eine Münze]«Decided.
Obviously, that wasn’t enough for Musk. In a new tweet about the revised Model S, he writes that you can even play Cyberpunk 2077 with it.

Tesla at PlayStation 5 level? This is made possible by an unspecified chip that, according to the official Tesla product page should achieve a theoretical computing power of up to 10 teraflops.
For comparison, we give you the computing power of current gaming hardware below. What is meant are the very important FP32 calculations in games (“FP” = floating point).
When looking at the information, however, keep in mind that in addition to the teraflops, other factors such as the exact architecture of the hardware, the memory configuration and the optimization options for developers play an important role in terms of performance.
How does the Tesla get 10 teraflops?
Details of the chip used are not yet known, however, there have already been several rumors that Tesla was responsible for its “Medial Control Units” wants to work with AMD. Previously, Nvidia’s Tegra chips were used for this.
According to the current status, an in-house development for Tesla in combination with an RDNA2 graphics unit seems to be the most obvious solution. Whether and when Tesla will announce the exact specifications is currently still open (an inquiry on our part is ongoing).
The question is not only how cyberpunk should run in the Tesla, but above all in which version and how well it does it – and how loud the car or the cooling solution becomes.
If the game is actually available on the Tesla alongside The Witcher 3 and other titles, we should know more by the time the revised vehicles Models S and Model X are released.
Apropos Cyberpunk 2077: In his plus column, Peter describes the mistakes that happened when the game CD Projekt RED and ourselves were launched:

At Cyberpunk 2077 everyone made mistakes, including GameStar
Fun when parking: You have been able to gamble (and watch series) in Tesla for a long time, even if only smaller titles like Cuphead. In general, however, this is only possible when the vehicle is parked. This will very likely also apply to the new models with high computing power.
What do you think of the possibility of being able to play bigger titles like The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077 in the electric car? A useful extra to pass the time while loading or unnecessary accessories? Feel free to write it in the comments!
