We’ve all been patiently awaiting more information about Elden Ring’s first expansion, and a recent retail listing for a custom controller briefly surfaced may have given a hint as to when we can expect it to arrive.
Following its sudden announcement in February of this year, news about the expansion has been almost silent. That being said, director Yasuhiro Kitao did recently reveal that it will feature “new battles and new characters” and is still “still a ways off,” so that’s the question.

While FromSoft has yet to officially announce a release date for Shadow of the Erdtree, it recently posted a listing that appears to show collaboration details surrounding the expansion, which was quickly taken down by game retailer Datablitz, and may have included a possible window. The listing appears to center around a custom controller partnership with Thrustmaster, claiming that their February 2024 release will “synchronize with the new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.”
It also seems to hint that more controllers will be released in 2025, coinciding with Elden Ring’s “major beat or new game expansion.”
Considering Kitao’s comments and Shadow of the Erdtree’s absence from The Game Awards, which would seem like an ideal opportunity to kick off a massive marketing push that would eventually culminate in early 2024, February seems a bit presumptive as the list turns out to be accurate , then the arrival of the expansion is unusual. That said, the DLC’s initial release was on Tuesday morning without any preparation, so who knows what FromSoft might have planned.
Aside from some obvious promotional art for the DLC, the listing lacks any other details, which means if you’re trying to find anything that isn’t obscure, you’re out of luck.
Hopefully, when Shadow of the Erdtree does launch, it’ll be really good, whether or not you’re using a snazzy custom controller that you paid a fortune for.
