With a remaster of the first two Legacy of Kain parts, the next reissues for the PlayStation 5 were already leaked before the State of Play tonight.
The PlayStation State of Play tonight will apparently bring with it several remasters. Horizon: Zero Dawn is almost a certain announcement, and a new edition of Days Gone is at least conceivable. But now the next comeback of an earlier title has been announced: Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 + 2 Remastered.
There was speculation about such a remaster back in July at the San Diego Comic-Con, but so far no announcement has been made. That is likely to change overnight, as the same remaster was accidentally leaked by Sony itself via the PlayStation Network.
The collection consisting of the two action classics is being co-developed by Aspyr and will receive all sorts of improvements, including significantly improved, contemporary graphics. A release date has also already been mentioned in a leaked trailer: You will be able to get started on PS4 and PS5 from December 10, 2024.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was originally released in 1999 for the original first PlayStation and later for the SEGA Dreamcast and PC. The sequel Soul Reaver 2 was released in 2001 for PlayStation 2 and PC. In both titles, Raziel is the focus as a playable character who seeks revenge against his master Kain.
