Brick lovers gather at LEGO Fiesta 2022, the plastic construction company and Nintendo A series of new Super Mario character packs have been announced.
Nintendo of America has revealed for the first time a new lineup of LEGO versions of classic Mario characters. It’s a mystery box situation with eight different characters to collect and build, including Nabbit, Purple Toad, Hammer Bro, Waddlewing, Toady, Baby Yoshi, Red Yoshi, and most importantly, Blue Shy Guy.
“Infinite Possibilities The LEGO Super Mario playset brings Super Mario characters to the real world,” LEGO wrote in the product description. Each character is designed to be used with the introductory course set, but obviously it’s Lego blocks and you can get them and do what you want with them.
The description on the product page does state that Lego Mario, Luigi, and Peach all react to these new characters in different ways, so it sounds like they’ll change the game in at least some small ways.
Currently, the new character pack is slated for release on August 1st, so you’re still a little over a month away from trying to get your Blue Shy Guy perfect.
Lego and Nintendo seem to have no intention of stopping brick-building, bad-guy-stomping fun, though both did appear to have started the process of retiring certain sets last year.
Mario can’t do anything without Sonic’s hot pursuit, and of course, a suit based on Thorn Blue Blur. It’s also a great class that lets you cobble together your own custom Sonic class if you like to spend your weekends this way.
These new LEGO Mario characters also seem to be great for you to share with your friends as you play Super Mario Odyssey through the impressive online multiplayer mode.
