Part of the LEGO Fortnite experience is that your gear breaks after a certain number of uses. The idea is just to let you craft new gear on a regular basis, which can be frustrating if you’re exploring and don’t want to find materials to craft new pickaxes.
However, since it looks like Epic has just fixed this bug, this can be avoided by quickly building a chest and then smashing it to repair your tools. Now that it’s gone, some players have taken to Reddit to voice their displeasure at the impact the game has had or could have.
One person said: “Overall this will make survival a lot more tedious and slower than it already is because now in addition to traveling you will be spending more time doing inventory management – which is a huge problem at the moment pain points.”
“Fixing this bug means you will now need to carry several copies of your tools if you plan on going on a long adventure or cave trip. This means more inventory space for more important items such as food and rare crafting materials “Less,” they explain, “less inventory space, meaning a long trek back and forth between your village and where you’re going. Unless you have a village close to a desert/snow biome, these will be very A long trek as there aren’t any faster travel options other than a glider [and] Fighter. “
Many players seem to agree that they’d like to see Epic either temporarily roll back the bug fix or quickly add features like a dedicated fix tool and some more efficient ways to travel the map to mitigate its impact. Absence will impact gameplay.
