Fans of the Lego adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione can rejoice: Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and its sequel Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 are being re-released for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
It has been 14 years since the first part of the “Lego Harry Potter” series was released. The game was released for PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable and Wii. The sequel followed a year later.
In 2016, both games were released together again as a bundle in the Lego Harry Potter Collection. They were sold as new releases for the console generation of the time: PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
But as we all know, all good things come in threes: On October 8th, the Lego Harry Potter Collection will be released again – this time for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In addition to the two main games, buyers will also receive the two existing DLCs for the second part. This means that even more different characters and spells are available to them. Players can also look forward to various technical updates. These include reduced loading times, native 4K resolution, 60 frames per second, high-resolution shadow maps and haptic feedback for the DualSense wireless controller of the Playstation 5.

The two games convinced our Lego Harry Potter Test through its magical game worlds, fun puzzles and the many exploration opportunities. “The backdrops and the game structure do the rest to draw you into the game’s spell,” we wrote in our review of Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4. The many different characters with different talents in particular ensure variety. While Hermione, for example, is an excellent wizard, the giant Hagrid has enormous powers.
In addition to the new release of the two Lego games, Harry Potter fans can look forward to another new release. The game Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will be released tomorrow 03.09. for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The Switch version will only be released in the Christmas season. The game is about the sport of the same name in the magical world and is already available at launch in PS+ Essential.
