LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga include almost 500 characters from the nine films of Star wars, and "many" -not specified- will be playable, including some surprises. This is confirmed by Craig Derrick of Lucasfilm Games in an interview about this title that pays homage, with the LEGO figures, to the entire history of the Skywalker family.

"There are almost 500 characters, with many of them playable. When you select characters for such a big game we look at each movie and try to say 'yes' as much as we can. That said, it is sometimes narrative-related and has a specific role in the mission. or progress. Of course you have Almost all of your heroes and villains from the movies, lots of kids, a few surprises … and Yaddle!"referring to the Jedi Master of the same race as Master Yoda.

Launches in 2020

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Launches this year for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch and is developed by TT Games, which has extensive experience in adapting film licenses to LEGO, including its own Star wars. Although some of the episodes had already been covered in games, it would be the first time we see titles from LEGO Star Wars with episodes VIII and IX. The Skywalker Saga reviews The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, going through the three original films –A new hope, The empire strikes back and Return of the Jedi– and the most recent The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and Skywalker's rise.

Although this story is closed, Disney keep exploding Star wars with new series and movies. Just yesterday it was announced that Taika Waititi, Oscar winner for best screenplay adapted by Jojo Rabbit, would write and direct a new movie. In addition, Emmy-nominated writer Leslye Headland (Russian doll, Bachelorette) is developing a new untitled Star Wars series for Disney +.
