While the first live-action Resident Evil film franchise was a huge box office hit, Capcom game fans had a lot to say. And those who criticized Paul WS Anderson’s films for taking liberties with official Resident Evil mythology might have something to say about the brand new film adaptation of the survival horror memorial.
Leon S. Kennedy and Lisa Trevor have never crossed in a Resident Evil game. As fans know, Leon is from Resident Evil 2, while Lisa is a terrifying opponent from the remake of the first episode. But that didn’t stop the minds behind it Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City
In fact, Sony Pictures just released a new video for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. In this soberly titled excerpt “Lisa Trevor“So it’s about the meeting of the two characters. And don’t ask us why, we don’t know anything about it. For your information, Leon S. Kennedy is played by Avan Jogia. Marina Mazepa plays the poor thing. Lisa Trevor.
Resident Evil is familiar and different at the same time
As this excerpt reminds us, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will take some liberties in the scenarios of the games. The film will not repeat the story of any particular episode of the Capcom saga. On the other hand, it presents a new story inspired by the first two Resident Evil.
Those who are enthusiastic about it should be reminded that the director of the film, Johannes Roberts, already has ideas for a sequel. If this gets the green light, he hopes to be able to use in the plot of Resident Evil 4.
Leon and Lisa Trevor on the bill, but not only
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City also stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper and Neal McDonough. The latter play Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker and William Birkin, respectively.
Finally, the film is expected in French cinemas on November 24th. Note that some French cinemas have already started previewing the film.
