It’s not that it’s impossible to get hold of one. RTX 40 Seriesbut the crazy prices that have to be paid to access the highest range of Nvidia they are absurd. More than 1,000 dollars to acquire the most coveted graphics cards on the market and with, sometimes, a stock that is not fluid enough.
A panorama that sends us constant signals that it is best to let time pass until the market calms down. The best thermometer to realize the situation we are experiencing is Steam, the largest gaming platform on PC, and take a look at the February 2023 Hardware and Software Survey. The figures do not lie and less than 1% of all users of the online store have a graphics card belonging to the most powerful Nvidia family.
Obviously, the increase is progressive for each month, but we are talking about just 0.69% of people with an RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4080 or an RTX 4090. Preferred options continue to be the GTX 1650 at 6.12% and the GTX 1060 at 5.28% and later 30 Series and 20 Series models begin to appear.
In the case of AMD GPUs, the Radeon RX 7000 being the top technology, the picture is even worse. According to the Steam survey, absolutely no one has such a graph or at least the data is so low that it is not even reflected in the final results. A Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XTX can be purchased for 1,249 dollars, which is a price that not all pockets can aspire to. We’ll see if the outlook improves in the coming months, but the graphic jump still doesn’t seem juicy enough for the public.
