deadly company Patch 45 has been released, adding things like keybindings and other tweaks, but most importantly its Arachnophobia mode.
Giant spiders in video games are a tale as old as time. They’re a classic enemy and sometimes, you just need to add one to your game. Lethal Company is a popular game on Steam that has outsold Call of Duty, as does its Bunker Spider counterpart. Of course, there are plenty of people with arachnophobia who simply can’t play games with spiders in them, and that’s a completely understandable problem. As accessibility in gaming becomes more common, it becomes wider in scope, with some games now adding arachnophobia modes to help people manage their fears. Lethal Company’s newly added Arachnophobia mode is probably the best mode I’ve ever seen – at least it’s the best mode in 2023 (and no, I don’t know if other games released this year have this mode, go away).
Quite simply, it just replaces the 3D model of the spider with the word “spider”. There are no floating, very sketchy spider-shaped orbs or anything like that. It’s just the word spider. Honestly, in a game that already offers so many funny moments, you’d think it couldn’t get any better, but this mode really made me laugh.

Developer Zeekerss shared the latest patch notes on Steam, but you can read the full list below:
Chemical flasks and dramatic masks, a nutcracker with a gun, and spray paint cans were added for fun. Railroad Cheese is nearly destroyed, but the forest giant is easier to avoid. Add the “flash” command to the radar booster, and new “signal translators” on the ship will be in great demand. The keybinding setup was complete and I gave the item delivery ship a happy spin. Gravity is more dangerous, but the improved mansion map generation will be good for us. Arachnophobia Mode will ease your fears and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
