Good news LG 55 G1: great promotion for the best 4K OLED TV of the moment
In the small world of high-end 4K TVs, there is one manufacturer that agrees: LG. The South Korean brand is the origin of the models recognized by almost everyone as having the best value for money on the market. And among LG’s best is of course the LG 55 G1 OLED TV. You know what ? She’s on a promotion.
There can be some debate as to which is the best 4K OLED TV. So we’re not getting wet: the G1 has won awards from several organizations or specialized websites. Almost all of our colleagues say it: This 4K TV is at the top. We sometimes see the Sony A90J above the G1 in some rankings, but the Sony model literally costs twice as much for a pretty negligible difference in quality.
Yes, the G1 is better than the absolute best-selling lower range, the LG 55C1. For 2 reasons: its balanced design for wall mounting (the bracket is included) and above all its screen, which is significantly brighter than that of its little sister. As a reminder, brightness is the point of making OLED panels (it’s hard to buy OLED if you plan to put your TV facing a south-facing window… except for the G1).
The 55-inch LG G1 has long been sold for around 2000 dollars. At the moment it drops on the very reliable specialized site Son-Vidéo.com at a very attractive price: 1349$. vu the quality of the beast, you can go there with your eyes closed. This price is in line with what we saw during Black Friday and it’s likely not going to stay there for very long.

LG 55G1: the elite of 4K OLED TVs for PS5 and Netflix
Whatever you use, the G1 is an exceptional TV that benefits from LG Displays best panels: the OLED EVO. It’s probably the best there is today. Gorgeous luminosity, near-infinite contrast (really stunning), no blooming, exceptional color fidelity… the best of the best.
Behind the TV you will find 4 connections HDMI 2.1 able to enjoy 4K at 120 FPS, although few games still manage to do so, even on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Between the 120 Hz HDR screen and the powerful gaming mode, it’s difficult to find anything better than the G1 to take full advantage of the next generation.
This is of course a connected tv with LG’s WebOS operating system. Twitch, YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+… it’s all there. There is also compatibility with Google Assistant, Apple AirPlay 2 and Dolby Vision!
If you are worried about OLED panel burning, we put your mind at ease. A lot has been done since the early days of the technology and LG’s AI has become devilishly effective in preventing this problem from occurring.
