LG OLED TVs are known for their strong black levels and contrasts. But a good picture also has its price. Often you will only find the televisions in the top price category. This year the prices for many models will increase again. Especially the cheaper models are affected by this.
Das Tech-Portal What Hifi announced the prices for this year’s LG TV lineup. Accordingly, the prices of the small models in the cheapest A2 series have risen drastically. The 48-inch device is 250 dollars more expensive than last year’s model (1,550 instead of 1,300 dollars), while the 55-inch version is 300 dollars higher (1,700 instead of 1,400 dollars). The 65-inch television from the A2 series has even climbed by 400 dollars (2,600 instead of 2,400 dollars).
Two high-end models drop in price. In the G2 OLED series, the price of the 77-inch television has fallen from 6,500 dollars to 6,000 dollars. In addition, the largest television in the B2 series has also experienced a price drop. The 77-inch TV falls from 5,000 to 4,500 dollars. All other models will be more expensive this year. The 83-inch OLED TV from the LG G2 series is new and costs a whopping 9,000 dollars.
That’s not even LG’s biggest model this year. In 2022, the company plans to launch a 97-inch OLED television. However, the company has not yet announced the price. If it doesn’t necessarily have to be OLED, you can get large UHD televisions, for example, much cheaper:

You can get OLEDs a little cheaper than Samsung’s new QD-OLED technology
The Verge recently announced the prices of Samsung’s new QD OLED TVs, which combine OLED with Quantum Dot technology to offer both the picture quality of OLED and the brightness of LED screens.
The S95B gets a 4K QD OLED panel and is said to cost 2,199 US dollars (around 2,000 dollars) in the 55-inch version. For the 65-inch model, you currently put 3,000 US dollars (around 2,700 dollars) on the table.
You don’t have to dig that deep into your pocket for LG’s new OLEDs. You can get at least the cheapest model of the new A2 series for 1,700 dollars RRP with 55 inches or for 2,600 dollars in the 65-inch version. With the 55-inch model, you can save up to a good 300 dollars compared to the Samsung model. However, you should also note that the prices for Samsung’s QD-OLEDs are the prices for the American market.
For OLED models with Evo panels, for example, you pay more again. If you are interested in Samsung’s QD-OLED, you should first wait and see how the technology compares to LG’s televisions.
Theoretically, you can also use OLED or QD OLED TVs as a PC monitor. In this article we will tell you whether this is a good idea:
