The British company Solar is introducing the E-Clipse 2.0 Race Edition, a maneuverable e-motorcycle at a low price. We present the “e-bike” to you.

You may already have the British company Solar E-Clipse on your radar, as they have an affordable e-motorcycle in their range, the E-Clipse model, for under 6,000 dollars. Building on this, they now have the E-Clipse 2.0 Race Edition, a slightly more expensive but significantly better equipped model for the equivalent of 6,400 dollars.
The electric motorcycle can reach speeds of up to 105 km/h and weighs just under 60 kilograms including the battery. It is available as a supermoto with 16-inch tires or as an enduro with 19-inch wheels. The battery, range and motor are identical in both versions.
The electric motor accelerates with a peak output of 13,000 watts up to a top speed of 105 km/h. So you have enough speed to ride the bike on country roads and highways without becoming a traffic hazard.
The battery, which can be removed for charging, comes from LG. According to the manufacturer, it should be good for a typical range of up to 112 kilometers before it is fully charged again within three hours. A small bonus: recuperation can generate a few extra kilometers.
In order to achieve the comparatively low weight of 60 kilograms, numerous parts are made of lightweight carbon fiber composite.
Price and availability
The Race Edition, presented in more detail here, costs the equivalent of 6,400 dollars. The slightly less well-equipped Solar E-Clipse is available for 5,870 dollars. The e-motorcycles are therefore cheaper than a slower, weaker and less-range Vespa Elettrica 70 (6,999 / 7,199 dollars).
