Nothing presents a unique, strictly limited smartphone that stands out from the models from competitors Xiaomi and Samsung. Find out what makes it special.
The British company Nothing has now presented a smartphone that other Android manufacturers such as Samsung or Xiaomi have not yet built. A mobile created in collaboration with the global community. It should be available soon – but only in a strictly limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
According to its own information, Nothing collected contributions from its own community from a total of 47 countries over six months to create a fan design for the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. The cell phone, which was only released in this country in mid-September 2024, received a new look, new wallpapers and new packaging in accordance with the design wishes of the community.
The new Phone (2a) Plus glows in the dark
As with the regular Phone (2a) Plus, the Community Edition has the LED lights on the back that are almost iconic for Nothing. In addition, luminous panels are integrated on the light gray back that shine in the dark. This special feature stands out not only in Nothing’s portfolio, but also in comparison to other manufacturers such as Samsung and Xiaomi, who do not yet offer cell phones with a “glow in the dark” back.
The technology of the Phone (2a) Plus was not changed as part of the community project – but it should not go unmentioned either. The Phone (2a) Plus offers a 6.7-inch OLED display that supports a refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz – so you should be able to browse, play and watch videos smoothly.

The 5,000 milliamp hour battery can be charged with up to 50 watts of charging power. On the back, the phone offers two cameras with 50 megapixel resolution each, while the selfie camera also enables recordings with up to 50 megapixels and videos in 4K.
