Almost 40 years have passed since James Cameron decided to start one of the most iconic action sagas in the history of cinema: Terminator. Although Arnold Schwarzenegger has been the big star in most of them, playing the T-800, the franchise has had another protagonist who stood out since her first appearance: Linda Hamilton.
Her role as Sarah Connor will be remembered by everyone, and although Linda remembers it fondly, she doesn’t want to know anything more about this character. During an interview with Business Insiderthe American actress revealed that she would be leaving the franchise behind after her last film in 2019, stating that there is nothing more to say about her character.
“I’m done. I’m done. I have nothing more to say. The story has already been told, and done to death. Why anyone would re-release it is a mystery to me. But I know the world of Hollywood is built on re-releases”.
Hamilton, in addition to stating that they have completely exploited his character, has also shown that he wants them to let the saga rest. Terminatorwhich since the ’90s has done nothing but stumble upon films that have failed to emulate the success of its first two installments.
Still, it seems that James Cameron is moving forward with the franchise, since several months ago he confirmed that he was working on the script for a new film. The central theme, as it could not be otherwise, would be Artificial Intelligences and the dystopian world that was presented to us in the future with this technology.
