The European Championship is over and the Olympics don’t last forever. But there doesn’t have to be boredom on TV, because there are a few real highlights on Netflix again in August.
What’s new on Netflix in August 2021? In our overview we present you all of the upcoming new releases of the month. August highlights include The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, Tomb Raider and the DC film Birds Of Prey: The Emancipation Of Harley Quinn.
New film and series highlights in August 2021
The Witcher – Nightmare of the Wolf: What was Geralt’s mentor Vesemir like in his younger years? This is what the Witcher anime and prequel film Nightmare of the Wolf tries to fathom. In it you will experience previously unseen insights into the life of Vesemir, who, like his future protégé, appreciates a bathtub. By the way, Lauren S. Hissrich and Beau DeMayo are responsible for the implementation, who already played a key role in the main series.

Birds of Prey – The Emancipation of Harley Quinn: Actress Margot Robbie was allowed to slip into the role of Harley Quinn for the first time in Suicide Squad. With Birds of Prey, she gets her own solo film, in which the villain Black Mask (played by Ewan McGregor) is up to mischief in Gotham City. Harley Quinn is supported in her fight by Huntress, Black Canary, Renee Montoya and Cassandra Cain.

Tomb Raider: Like the video game series, the film adaptation of Tomb Raider went through a reboot. Instead of Angelina Jolie, Oscar winner Alicia Vikander slips into the role of the archaeologist and experiences a story that is very similar to the series part from 2013. Here, too, the young Lara lands on the island of Yamatai and faces some adversaries. Your goal? Finding out what really happened to her father who disappeared seven years ago.
