At Wow, you can get the Bundesliga, Formula 1 and more in a live sports subscription for little money and without an additional receiver. But who is the subscription really worth it for?
Sky is at the forefront when it comes to live broadcasts of the Bundesliga. On the other hand, the live rights for the Champions League and part of the Bundesliga are held by DAZN. If you want to watch the Bundesliga on Saturday, the 2nd division or Formula 1 live, you cannot avoid a Sky subscription.
However, despite Sky’s wide range of offers, this is generally not cheap and has another disadvantage: the subscription is only available for a minimum period of 12 months and a receiver is usually required for reception.
Although Sky now offers the option of streaming on other platforms with Sky Q and Sky Go, you still need a subscription with a receiver to access these.
Sky has also become aware that this puts many people off. The service has therefore reacted and launched a streaming service in 2013 that works similarly to Netflix. It promises monthly cancelable subscriptions and access to content over the Internet – without the need for an additional device. After several name changes (Snap by Sky, Sky Ticket), the service has now settled on the name Wow.
Cheaper than Sky: This is how much live sports costs at Wow
The streaming offshoot has two packages in its portfolio: “Wow Movies & Series” and “Wow Live Sport”. It is up to you whether you book both models independently of each other and cancel them monthly. The live sport package costs 35.99 dollars per month and the annual contract costs 29.99 dollars per month.

A fair price, as the subscription combines the content of the Sky packages “Bundesliga” and “Sport”. For these, you would have to pay 30 dollars for the first 12 months and 44.50 dollars thereafter. The price is also impressive when compared to the competition: At DAZN, you only get the standard package for 29.99 dollars per month and therefore only a fraction of the available content.
Magenta Sport is cheaper at 19.95 dollars per month, but mainly includes rights for less well-known sports leagues in this country, such as the BBL or DEL.
Try Wow for free: Is there a trial month?
Streaming service
You might want to try Wow for free to watch films, series and sports like football. There is no trial month, but there is a comparable option to test it out.
There is no official day ticket at Wow. You can still add selected games as pay-per-view. However, this is not done via Wow itself, but via the OneFootball platform. In cooperation with Sky, it provides you with individual access to games from the 2nd division and the DFB Cup for under 5 dollars.
Wow Live Sports Program: These sports are included
Although Sky or Wow has lost many sports rights to the competition, the streaming provider still has a wide range of broadcasting rights. You can watch the following competitions exclusively with the Wow Live Sports subscription.
