All keys explained in “Locke & Key”: The key everywhere

Is it the most powerful key in the Netflix series “Locke & Key”? With the help of Everywhere key its owner can travel anywhere in the world. The everywhere key is put in a door, and behind this is the desired travel destination. There is only one requirement for this: the user of the key must know what the door to be reached looks like.

For example, Rufus (Coby Bird) sends his friend Bode a photo of his new front door in season 2. With the help of the everywhere key, Bode can then visit Rufus at his new place of residence. For example, in season 1 of “Locke & Key”, Demon Echo / Dodge uses the everywhere key for a theft. The key is perfect for showing up or taking off somewhere by surprise!

The Hercules Key: A New Key in Season 2 of “Locke & Key”

Bode, the youngest member of the Locke family, finds the so-called in season 2 Hercules key. It is connected to a belt and gives its wearer – as the name suggests – superhuman strength.

With the help of the Hercules key, the slender Bode is able to lift a heavy sofa into the air without help. In the season 2 finale, Kinsey’s friend Scot (Petrice Jones) uses him to fend off Gabe / Dodge’s demonic helpers.

All keys explained in “Locke & Key”: The head key

Every student who is currently studying for an exam or a test would want this key: The owner can use the head key to pay a visit to his own head / consciousness. You put the magic key in your neck / back of your head, turn it, and then you can step into yourself through a door. Your own body remains “frozen” in reality.

You can do a lot of different things with the head key. For example, Locke’s daughter Kinsey spends undisturbed hours in her own consciousness at the beginning of season 2. Kinsey would like to get to know her friend Gabe better through the head key, since every consciousness looks unique and says a lot about its wearer. You can also look at a person’s memories in their head.

And: If you throw a book into your own head with the help of the head key, then you upload the entire content into your memory – laborious learning and reading is no longer necessary here!

The Memory Key: A New Key in Season 2 of “Locke & Key”

In “Locke & Key” only children and young people can remember the magic keys. Adults, on the other hand, forget within seconds that they have just witnessed magic.

With the help of the reminder key, which is new in season 2 of the Netflix series, this is not the case. Erin (Joy Tanner) and the Locke children use him in the new episodes so that Duncan Locke (Aaron Ashmore) can again remember the power of the keys and the events of his youth.

In the season 2 finale, however, Tyler decides not to use the memory key before moving to Boston to study. In the already confirmed 3rd season of “Locke & Key” so he will (initially) not be able to remember the magic keys.

All keys explained in “Locke & Key”: The mirror key

The mirror key is the gateway to a particularly perfidious prison. When placed in a mirror, it opens access to another dimension that resembles a mirror labyrinth. Quite a few people have died here and Dodge calls it a “good place to lock up your enemies.”

The Dollhouse Key: A New Key in Season 2 of “Locke & Key”

In the house of his girlfriend Jamie (Liyou Abere), Locke’s son Bode comes across a doll’s house that is an exact replica of the Key House. With the help of the dollhouse key, this magical dollhouse can be activated and you can look inside.

However, it is not a replica, but a miniature of the real Key House. When Bode crushed his mini-bed, it actually broke through in the middle at home. Jamie places a gummy bear in the doll’s house, and then there’s a giant, edible gummy bear in the Key House!

All keys explained in “Locke & Key”: The Spirit Key

The Spirit Key opens a door on the first floor of the Key House. If the owner of the key steps through this, his body separates from his mind. The ghost can fly and float freely – and talk to the ghost of Chamberlin Locke (Chris Britton) in the cemetery.

The body, on the other hand, remains lifeless, which is very dangerous. If the said door is closed while the owner of the Spirit Key is flying around somewhere, he cannot return to his body!

The Demon Key: A New Key in Season 2 of “Locke & Key”

Gabe / Dodge forces Duncan Locke to create a key that turns a normal human into a demon that Dodge can rule and that does anything he wants. This key doesn’t have an official name in season 2 of “Locke & Key”, but we’ll just call it that Demon key, because it is precisely this function that lies dormant in him.

Gabe / Dodge uses the key to create a small army of helpers.

All the keys in “Locke & Key” explained: The Gestalt key

The extremely powerful one Shape key already appears prominently in season 1 of “Locke & Key”. The demon Dodge uses it repeatedly to change her appearance. The owner sticks the shape key under his chin and can thus change his appearance as desired.

In season 2 of “Locke & Key”, Dodge takes on the appearance of Gabe with the help of the key and can in this way fool the members of the Locke family about his true identity for a long time.

The Angel’s Key: A New Key in Season 2 of “Locke & Key”

Sam Lesser (Thomas Mitchell Barnet) and Chamberlin Locke help Kinsey and Scot find the Angel’s Key. Combined with a vest, it gives the wearer gigantic white angel wings that can be used to fly.

Especially in the finale of the 2nd season of “Locke & Key” the angel key proves to be extremely helpful in the fight against Gabe / Dodge.

With the Omega key the mysterious Omega door to the dimension of the demons in the caves on the cliffs can be opened.

Dodge desperately wants to get the key to bring more demons into the human world. But this was not possible for a long time because Rendell Locke (Bill Heck) had hidden it in his head. It was only when Rendell’s urn broke after his death that the Omega key reappeared.

The Chain Key: A New Key in Season 2 of “Locke & Key”

Of the Chain key consists of a key and lock, as shown in the photo above. A magic chain shoots out of the castle, from which there is no escape.

So Erin can initially tie up Gabe / Dodge at the Winterfest, but then Eden (Hallea Jones) appears, knocks Erin out and Gabe then kills Erin.

Of the Shadow key must be connected to the shadow crown. Then the owner and wearer of the crown can bring shadows to life and also control them. Dodge uses this crown to attack the Locke family in season 1 of “Locke & Key”.

The Alpha Key: A New Key in Season 2 of “Locke & Key”

Of the Alpha key is a very special key in season 2 of “Locke & Key”. Tyler, with Duncan’s help, makes it out of Rendell’s “Emergency Whispering Trips”.

The effect of the Alpha Key is the exact opposite of the Demon Key. With his help, Tyler succeeds in killing Gabe and his demons by splitting the demon from its human host. However, Tyler does not manage to save Jackie because she is not an echo. Jackie tragically dies.

Kinsey and Gabe use the Music Key in season 1 to ridicule Eden at school. In season 2, Gabe / Dodge uses the key to rule Scot. He beats up Gabe, thereby manipulating Dodge Kinsey.

The match key: The 1st key that appears in the series “Locke & Key”. Mark Cho (Ken Pak) uses it to set himself and his house on fire. With it, the owner can create flames.

The echo key: With the echo key you can conjure up the echo of a deceased person in the fountain house. However, this can only leave the fountain house with the help of the everywhere key.

The plant key: The key in the form of a flower allows its owner to master plants. For example, Gabe / Dodge lets tree roots overgrow Erin in season 2 of “Locke & Key”.
