- Above all, ease
- A production that remains of quality
- Compatible with PS4, PS5, Switch, PC, smartphones and tablets, but not Xbox
- Correct sound despite some flaws
- Surprisingly good microphone, solo
- Conclusion: The G435 is a great surprise
It looks like it came straight from the 90s with its bold colors. Blue for the ear pads, pink for the foam and purple for the headband of the headband. Be assured anyway. If you’re looking for a bit of sobriety in this harsh world, the G435 is also available in black or white. But the “Blue and Raspberry” model we received from Logitech is clearly our preference. for its eye-catching side, even if it underlines the “toy” aspect of the helmet.

Above all, ease
It must be said that the G435 doesn’t weigh much compared to other wireless headsets that go through our hands. 168 grams on the scales, that’s only half the H3 Hybrid we just tested and less than two-thirds the weight of the wired G335, the entry-level headset from the Swiss company. The G435 clearly hasn’t grown and that’s a good thing. Its lightness is immediately appreciated on the head.
The simple and flexible arch that ensures tightening doesn’t need to apply a lot of pressure for the helmet to hold perfectly. The temples are absolutely not indented, the top of the head is not really supported, We are ready to forget the presence of this helmet from the first minutes.
A production that remains of quality
The G435 is light but has a decent finish. Granted, the plastic is present on all levels and the large smooth surfaces that serve as texture emphasize its presence, but the result is pleasing to the eye, especially with this colorful version, which strongly emphasizes the retro touch.
The lightweight fabric that covers the ear cups’ foam feels a bit rough and deserves a softer surface. Corn the set is sufficiently ventilated to play for hours without fear of heat build-up and thus sweating. The height is also adjusted at the level of the auricles using a very flexible slide that does not easily hold an adjustment, but enables a new one without the slightest expenditure of force. The helmet adapts remarkably well to the smallest of heads. (also those of children from approx. 6 years) and can no longer pick up the heads of adults up to size 60. It is unsuitable for thick mugs, hat wearers and other larger heads. You have been warned.
The electrical connection between the two atria is clearly visible, with a two centimeter high coiled cable (at rest), which is then hidden by the lining of the tire. Arceau, which has gone through even our most beautiful twists without suffering cracks or deformations. A good indication of the durability of the whole thing, including the ball joints.
Compatible with PS4, PS5, Switch, PC, smartphones and tablets, but not Xbox
The G435 offers dual wireless connectivity with one hand a USB dongle for the 2.4 GHz radio connection, and on the other hand a Bluetooth that’s all more standard. The first ensures compatibility with the PlayStation 4 and 5 platforms, the Nintendo Switch in TV mode (with the dongle connected to the console dock) and on all computer systems: ChromeOs, Linux, MacOs and of course Windows. However, the Xbox One and Series do not recognize this audio output.o, still bluetooth.
In fact, Bluetooth cannot be combined with the 2.4 GHz system. Switching from one to the other is very easy at the push of a button. If Logitech does not indicate this, given the range of the headphones (around 10 meters) and the measured latency of around 150 ms, it seems that we are in the presence of a Bluetooth 4.2. Nothing embarrassing to watch a movie or video on a smartphone, but as part of the game, You risk realizing this latency. We can’t say that it really hinders immersion, but it remains remarkable.
This bluetooth allows the G435 to connect to the Nintendo Switch, most mobile platforms (smartphones and tablets, laptops) or smart TVs. However, the headphones do not have an analog input / output and can therefore not be used in passive mode. Suddenly it is necessary to pay attention to the charge of the battery, which, when used at a volume of 100%, showed an autonomy of 20 hours in Bluetooth and 18 hours in 2.4 GHz after a charge.
Correct sound despite some flaws
Let’s get to the basics, namely the sound of the G435 when you put the headphones on your ears. Far from being perfect, the headphones give us a sufficiently balanced sound reproduction To appreciate in the game, the bass is present, the highs are well defined and ultimately we only regret a rather pronounced dip around 5 kHz. We lose a bit of shine, which leaves us with a sound that is sometimes too flat and which regularly lacks dynamics.
Not enough to scream a scandal, especially at this price point, this is where Logitech avoids all of the dangers associated with this type of rendering. The headphones are not aggressive, they are not particularly tiring, the voices are very intelligible, and the brand avoids giving us the punch of the virtual 7.1, which is often useless. Music lovers who are on the go with the headset and thus in Bluetooth will also appreciate its relatively high passive sound insulation and its reasonable but sufficient performance.
Clear, a satisfactory sound that doesn’t necessarily require an equalizer. And that’s a good thing, because the G435 does not benefit from the support of the G HUB when listening as it does with the microphone. You therefore do not have the option of using the lowest setting beyond the volume of the headset with its two separate buttons and the muting of the microphone next to it.
Surprisingly good microphone, solo
As is so often the case, a demonstration is worth all the talk we offer you a video that was made with the microphone of the G435, of course without editing:
We are obviously more than satisfied with this very clean, understandable, balanced reproduction, which respects the timbre and supports almost all nuances. Many of the brand’s helmets don’t offer that much. Note that the microphone has its limits in terms of decibels and thathe won’t bear to hear you speak too loudlyalthough it likes to amplify ambient noise if it is too present.
Conclusion: The G435 is a great surprise
Comfortable, light, practical, cross-platform, with good sound through headphones and microphones, we have to admit that the G435 meets all the criteria for success. And at a surprisingly low price considering its services. For example, it does not reach the level of a HyperX Cloud II Wireless, mainly because of the lack of dynamics and amplitude in the sound reproduction, however for under $ 80 it just does an excellent job.
And the lack of a stem for the microphone makes it an ideal nomad headset that we like to take with our smartphone for musical walks before returning to PC or console for a few gaming sessions on this G435.
