Gaming News LoL: Lunar Festival 2022 is announced in the trailer, but there are some changes!
January is drawing to a close, which suggests it’s time for League of Legends to launch a brand new event. The end of January will therefore rhyme with Lunar Festival, since it was recently announced by a trailer. Still, the Riot teams will use this event to make small adjustments.
Recently, the Riot Games teams have paid special attention to the various types of feedback that players can provide from the community. Just a few days ago we were talking about the development studio’s statement on the improvements to be made within the game, particularly on points such as damage, healing and the intractable problem of power creep. But at the moment the timing seems tight for the teams who also have to take care of the arrival their new champion, Zeri.
Available since yesterday, we’ve taken the time to detail it the particularities. It comes at exactly the right time, because now League of Legends captures eSports news due to the launch of the LFL (French League of Legends) Spring Split 2022, intensification of competition Day after day. For its part, Riot Games isn’t striving to let go of the gas pedal in terms of novelty given the imminent launch of Lunar Festival 2022.
Get Rewards Easier!
At the last event in League of Legends, namely the Seducers event, Riot Games wanted to make some changes to the understanding of in-game events: The idea then was to align them so that they generally reward practice of the game more than playing a specific number of games. The concept was laudable on paper, but its execution was far more risky, which the development studio deserved some negative comments from players.
However, these were quickly heard and the teams at Riot Games made plans to review their copy from the start of the Lunar Festival event. One of the most important changes concerns the accumulation of points: They will be easier to earn compared to previous events, making completing missions and earning rewards much less of a hassle.
Our goal was to make LoL events more focused on the LoL game modes, but also be more respectful of your time. However, we missed the mark in this second part – the technical hurdle of not having a point “rollover” mechanism unintentionally slowed down the token rate, which really wasn’t the goal.
For example, it will be possible to obtain up to 10 tokens per win, depending on the game modes if you have chosen to purchase a Premium Pass. Note that they can be won an unlimited number of times, but cannot be used unless you have purchased an Event Pass.
The Orb Mission, on the other hand, has a reduction in the required points, as do the Stage Missions and the weekly rewards for Premium Pass holders. Overall, Riot is making it easier for players to complete missions and claim rewards during the four-week event running from January 26th to February 28th – a very welcome change!
