Apocalyptic London will be available for download on GOG after release.
In a perfect world, you could be playing Fallout: London right now. Unfortunately, it isn’t, although not quite as turbulent as the world of Fallout itself. Nevertheless, the huge mod for Fallout 4 still has no release date since the original date of April 23, 2024 fell through.
The team has now Interview mit The Gamer officially announced, that Fallout: London will be released on GOGwhen the time finally comes. The store operated by CD Projekt is actually urgently needed for the release, because without it it would have been difficult to get the huge amounts of data out to people.

Fallout: London is too big
Fallout: London may seem like a big add-on for Fallout 4 at first glance, but in reality it is a total conversion created by fans. So a mod, which basically rebuilds the entire game. Conversion mods like this are common, but Fallout: London is one of the most massive mods to date.
To get all the game data onto your PC, you’ll need to download between 30 and 40 gigabytes. That even exceeds the limits of the equally huge Skyrim mod Enderal, which is around 20 GB.
Fallout: London is, according to project leader Dean Carter so large that the most popular modding website Nexus cannot handle the amount of dataSo an alternative solution had to be found and that’s where GOG came in.
We entered into discussions with GOG to release Fallout: London after Nexus had issues hosting the files. Without the combined help of Nexus Mods and GOG, the release of Fallout: London would not be possible.

Fallout: London follows a similar path to Enderal, except that the latter was released on Steam instead of GOG.
New challenges
However, releasing on GOG also brings with it some new challenges. A spokesperson for GOG told The Game that releasing the project on their store raised a few questions.
It’s a super interesting project. For us, it’s a release like no other.
How to market [Fallout: London] in the store? It’s a DLC, but it’s not really a DLC. So how do you approach the project from the digital platform side?
According to the press spokesperson, the fact that the mod ends up on GOG and not on Steam like Enderal is also due to the fact that the whole team at GOG is very enthusiastic when it comes to mods and many of them also mod games themselves.
There is no product page for Fallout: London yet and a new date has not been announced either. So we’ll have to wait until the mod is finally ready. The release was originally postponed because Bethesda got in the way with the next-gen update for Fallout 4.
