It makes sense that Sucker Punch wants to make a series Ghost of Tsushima, has sold over 8 million copies of the game to date.So when a job ad popped up, hiring for an unannounced open-world stealth game, our minds automatically turned Ghost of Tsushima 2.
According to two new job advertisements on Sucker Punch’s website – one for a technical combat designer and the other for a senior combat designer – we may get some preliminary details on what the studio hopes to achieve with the next title (thanks Tech4Gamers ).
Job advertisements all express the need for employees with melee and stealth experience, as well as experience working in open-world scenarios. Given that the studio’s previous games had all of these elements, it’s unlikely that this could be Ghost of Tsushima 2.
There’s also a roster of encounter designers whose job is to “incorporate interesting layouts and challenging enemies into engaging game encounters,” all with a focus on “action stealth.”
Of course, it’s always possible that it could be something else. Maybe a new IP, or even a follow-up to the Sly Cooper or Infamous series. At the time of writing, neither Sony nor the developers themselves have confirmed anything. So we’ll just have to wait and see what these jobs end up being for.
We learned in April that Sucker Punch isn’t “actively” making any patches for Ghost of Tsushima, so it makes sense that the studio’s focus is entirely on the yet-to-be-named new game.
If you’re craving more stealthy samurai action, you’ll be happy to know that John Wick’s director Chad Stahlski is working on a Ghost of Tsushima movie.
