It’s a real sensation every time it pops up: Lords of the Fallen returned during Summer Game Fest 2023 to show us what it has to offer. Does Elden Ring need to be concerned? It has to be done.
Conceived as a serious competitor to Elden Ring, which will soon be entitled to a very, very large DLC, Lords of the Fallen promises a daunting adventure in a rich and, importantly, gigantic open world. Far from emulating Fromsoftware’s now cult title, the game offers players the chance to travel between two worlds, one physical and one immersed in darkness. A very interesting concept.
Lords of the Fallen wants to shake up Elden Ring on its own territory
There are still many gray areas in this regard Lords of the Fallenbut it looks more than promising, a far cry from what the first episode offered anyway.
It’s already much more ambitious. The world will trade the corridors of the first work for more open and labyrinthine areas than ever before. Here, too, the journey between the two worlds promises great things.
But it’s also the bestiary, which is much more tormented than before, and the general artistic direction, which seems more immersed in horror, with the first work ultimately being content to remain in a fairly classic fantasy format.
In short, this Lord of the Fallen could well surprise and present himself as a formidable opponent against the tenors of the genre. The trailer was shared during the Future Game Show 2023
