Change on the Lost Ark PTR in Korea
in korea, Smilegate just announced Setting up the PTR (test server) for the game’s next major update Patch notes accompany the latter, and the least we can say is that there are changes. Nerfs classes that are considered “premium” buff others that are somewhat overlooked. Reddit and the forums are a little on fire, but let’s try to understand the changes that are driving the web crazy. So we won’t talk about all classes here, as some things will likely change.
The Berserker: The End of the Chaos Specialization?
At the side of berserk, one must be aware that major changes to the PTR version are afoot. Some attacks become back attacks, which improve their damage by putting you behind a boss, but also a change to the rune Atta perforated technically attack bladeranging from 37% of defense being ignored when hit by your attack, to ”’a debuff that improves damage taken by the opponent by 6% for 6 seconds… which is technically a buff when this affects your entire team.
However, it gets more interesting with the engravings of the Berserker class. That from Berserk Technique is empowered, increasing Rage mode critical damage from 30/40/50% to 35/50/70%. Secondly, the engraving chaosShe feels annoyed, and not just a l ittle. Damage dealt increases from 4/9/18% to +3/7/14%, and most importantly, you can now only get 40% of the healing effect, significantly reducing the lifespan of the latter.
You have to acknowledge that chaos is heavily nerfed here, both in terms of damage and healing. We’ll have to see how it goes, but according to the calculations, the Zerker loses 6% damage in chaos Level 3 and 3-4% in Mayhem 1. We can imagine that here Smilegate also wants to highlight the other specialization, viz Berserk Technique.
Bloodblade: Major nerf to the Surging specialization
This is where the number of Surging Storm stacks changes: Previously, you could stack up to 20 stacks of Surging Storm’s buff, knowing that one stack deals 7.5% more damage on your Deferlante. With the PTR change, accumulating 20 stacks only deals 100% more damage. So 50% damage loss. It’s also a bloody nerf.
Note, however, that the specification breaking wave represents a somewhat strange position in the Korean version of the game. To recap, this specialization was considered to be Nothing before, which meant that almost all high-level content players played in specialization residual energy. However, the specialization breaking wave has recently been improved. It was a lot harder to optimize, but then again, it was theoretically one of the most damaging specs in the game. Was it still necessary not to fall during a fight?
But players still stuck to the spec residual energy for two reasons: the price of changing the spec (retrofitting, re-optimizing, with the right runes, etc., it’s a huge cost, much more than we currently have on the global version), and the second reason is than the spec residual energy penalizes mistakes less in terms of DPS. So the choice of simplicity remained. And let’s also add that the KR community also wanted to see if changes wouldn’t happen, to avoid respecing in vain… and they were obviously right to wait.
The Witch: Small nerf for the Ignitor specialization
As for the witch, rest assured: a small nerf has been announced, but it won’t change much. In the specialization detonatorduring your Magical Reinforcement, the improvement in the damage of your spells goes from 10 to 8%. The same during the Torrent d’Arcane, or you go from 20 to 16%. On the other hand, the scaling of your spells will be slightly improved during the Magic Amplification state, from 2.15 to 2.2. So we’re on a real nerve with 2%~. All is well.
We’re awaiting a confirmed listing for release before listing all the changes, but you can do that if you’d like read them all here. If some nerfs don’t make sense to you, don’t forget that the equipment in this version is much more advanced and some optimizations are not yet available with us.
Good game everyone!
