Lost Ark is certainly THE MMORPG of this year and its massive popularity with us has just forced it to go through the censorship box
The MMORPG Lost Ark, which has been available for ages in South Korea, Russia and other Asian countries, came here on Steam just this year and turned out to be a real hit, overwhelming even the servers.
The game actually broke records on Steam when it first launched and quickly became a fixture on the platform with hundreds of thousands of regular players every month. Step by step, Lost Ark also receives many updates and a variety of novelties. The problem is that not everything is to Amazon’s taste.
The new class of Lost Ark does not exist
As a reminder, Amazon takes care of the circulation Losk Ark here and the American giant obviously doesn’t like everything about Korean video game culture. The company has indeed requested that the new heroine, the artist, be censored. The cause ? Those clothes. After all, the artist is an exclusively female class and the latter only wears costumes with very little material, and that is not acceptable.
The artist looks like a young girl equipped with a giant paintbrush and in fact belongs to a class that doesn’t really like fabrics and prefers to dress in extremely short skirts. As a result, Amazon asked Smilegate RPG, the studio responsible for the western version Lost Arkto cover everything with longer dresses, tights or shorts.
The studio has therefore announced changes to its heroine, who will therefore see her costumes and her skins completely re-typed to meet “western standards”.
While our goal is to preserve the authenticity of the original game, we are working with Smilegate RPG to provide localization updates to ensure the game is accessible and representative of western players. Nothing gameplay-related will change for the Artist class, but some skins will be changed to better match western standards. In particular, costumes with short skirts have shorts under the skirt, and other skins have longer pants and either fitted or tights are added. We will strive to keep the original spirit of the skins when making these changes to ensure players have a variety of compelling customization options for this uniquely versatile class.
The Artist will be joining us from April 2023. aside from that Lost Ark shared a timetable Dizzying, which includes a crossover with The Witcher 3 in January, a big anniversary event in February, the new class in April, and a host of other diverse and varied content such as new challenges, a raid, etc. Fans will have plenty to do.
