After that last week langerwartete April-Update for Lost Ark and brought tons of content and the first new class into play, the weekly patch is due again today.
Of course, this time it is much less extensive, but there are still some Changes coming that all players should have on their radar – and hopefully they won’t let themselves be pissed off.
Removed reward due to bot flood
Anyone who has played Lost Ark in the past few weeks will certainly have encountered them: the hordes of gold farmer bots, who mostly come in the form of sword-wielding berserkers.

Despite numerous attempts by the developers to put a stop to the problem, Amazon Games is still unable to get this ugly plague under control.
Instead, the developers now want to try a new discouragement tacticwhich real players suffer from too: According to the patch notes – which you can find on the second page of this article – the Gem Chest rewards have been removed from the reward pool of the Casual Guardian Raids:
Gem chests have been removed to combat excessive bot farming.
While there’s a chance at Legendary Card Packs and Green, Blue, and Purple Engraving Recipes to compensate, regular players should have more than enough of these books by now.
And if you still have to collect the engravings, you can also buy them in the auction house, as gold prices have plummeted in recent weeks.
But that was not all: In addition, various gold rewards that players can get from some world and fortress quests will be canceled – also, to prevent farming by bots

Bot developers are always one step ahead of Amazon
Whether the changes in the patch really mean that fewer bots are up to mischief in Arkesia is of course highly questionable. While this makes running a bot less profitable, as long as the sheer masses of scammers can’t be effectively detected by Amazon’s anti-cheat system, they’ll probably just carry on as usual.
Community Manager Roxx also confessed in the official forum one that the developers can’t really stand up to the cheaters at the moment:
This is definitely a top priority for Amazon Games and Smilegate. We are constantly tracking and fighting the botters as their programs evolve and they find a way around our bans and tools. So it’s a constant back and forth that we will never give up.
Now the players have to make do with fewer rewards than before. It is not foreseeable when the developers will succeed in striking a decisive blow against the botters. But it sounds like it could be a while yet.
