It looks like M. Night Shyamalan’s daughter Ishana is still in the family business, as her feature directorial debut looks to be a surreal horror film that almost certainly has a twist .
Currently, M. Night is filming his own new movie, The Trap, which follows the behind-the-scenes story of a pop concert set up to catch a serial killer. It’s a crazy concept that his eldest daughter Saraika plays a pop star in the movie and her music will also be in the movie. But M. Night’s youngest daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan, is also making a movie: warder, whose first trailer was just released yesterday. This isn’t Isana’s first time as a director, as she actually directed a few episodes of the horror series Servant (yes, her father was a producer on the show), and she also directed her sister most of the music videos.
But it seems odd that Watchmen marks her debut as a director. Based on AM Shine’s novel of the same name, the film stars Dakota Fanning (“War of the Worlds,” “My Neighbor Totoro”) as “Mina, a 28-year-old artist trapped in a vast, unspoiled West. ’s forest. When Mina finds shelter, she is unknowingly trapped with three strangers, being watched and stalked every night by mysterious creatures.”

Its trailer actually looks pretty good and does set a mysterious tone, but I can’t entirely blame you if you’re not interested in it as it gives off some strong Baby Nebo vibes (M. Night is also serving) as a producer on the project). It’s not too far away if you’re interested, though, as it currently has an international release date of June 12th and a US release date of June 14th.
