2K summarizes in a press release: “Uncover the origins of organized crime in a gangster story set in the Sicilian underworld of the 20th century. Fight for survival in this dangerous and unforgiving era, bringing the action to life with the realism and rich storytelling that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for.”
“In the first three games in the Mafia series, we introduced players to the world of the Mafia through brutal stories from different eras,” added Nick Baynes, President of Hangar 13. “With Mafia: The Old Country, we’ve returned to the roots of what fans love about the series, crafting a deep, linear narrative with the feel of a classic gangster film, visiting a stunning new locale, and presenting it all in a tight, focused format for fans who appreciate immersion.”
Mafia: The Old State will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 in 2025, and the trailer suggests we’ll see more content this December. In the meantime, 2K says all published games in the Mafia series will be available on Steam until September 2.
