With MagentaTV Flex you can receive over 150 HD channels without Telekom Internet and without a minimum contract period. We’ll show you what else you get and how much the package costs.

  1. The main differences

  2. Book MagentaTV Flex with Disney+ and Netflix

While Telekom is now also selling its new MagentaTV 2.0 version with over 180 TV channels outside of its own fixed-line customers, the entertainment packages still require a long-term commitment to the provider for the most part. This is different with the MagentaTV Flex tariff.

MagentaTV Flex is ideal for all of you who only want to use the TV offer for a short period of time or who want to try it out first. After all, the Flex package can be canceled monthly and can also be received without hardware costs for MagentaTV devices – as long as you can do without the handful of UHD channels that you can only get with Telekom rental hardware.

In contrast to MagentaTV’s regular tariffs, which are set up for an impressive 24 months, Flex also has the clearest offer structure, as there are no tempting offers such as free first months. MagentaTV Flex simply costs 10 dollars per month – regardless of how long the package is booked for. All you need to receive it is an internet connection, regardless of the provider.

MagentaTV Flex: The most important differences

But what distinguishes MagentaTV Flex from the equally priced, Internet provider-independent option MagentaTV Smart? First of all, the Smart tariff is set to run for two years, even without a Telekom connection, but for the same monthly price it includes twice as much recording storage and free access to the RTL+ Premium streaming service.

If you are interested in a combination of the flexible cancellation conditions of MagentaTV Flex and the streaming combo with RTL+ from the Smart option, the MagentaTV Smart Flex offer for 15 dollars per month is probably the most suitable for your needs. We show you what you get in the pure Flex tariff from MagentaTV in the following list:

  • Monthly charges: 10 Euro (excl. Telekom-Internet)
  • Minimum term: 1 month
  • TV channel: 180+
  • HD quality: 150+ Sender
  • UHD quality: Only with MagentaTV hardware, 100 MBit/s internet required
  • Simultaneous streams: 2
  • MagentaTV+ (Megathek): Yes
  • Time-shifted television: Ja (Timeshift, Restart)
  • Recording memory: 50 hours
  • Mobile use: Yes
  • Telekom connection required: No
  • Hardware inklusive: No (additional booking possible)
  • Compatible devices: Magenta TV One (1st and 2nd generation), Magenta TV Stick, Apple TV HD / 4K, Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, SmartTVs from Samsung, LG or Sony, PC and Mac browsers, iOS and Android mobile devices

MagentaTV Flex has another restriction for large households: unlike Telekom’s other TV tariffs, the offer can only be played on two screens at the same time instead of three, depending on the content. Additional costs also arise if you rent MagentaTV hardware for UHD reception from the provider.

Book MagentaTV Flex with Disney+ and Netflix

You will have to do without the RTL+ offer with the MagentaTV Flex tariff, but you can add the different Disney+ and Netflix tariffs for an additional charge. However, depending on the offer, you will not always benefit from a price saving.
