After a week of rest, we will re-add items to the weekly hidden gems feature, hoping to bring you an eclectic collection of independent games.
We will cheat this week through the news reports of last week and this week, hoping to make up for skipping a week. As always, we have a full section dedicated to the games you can play this weekend, not just watching the trailer.
We will not introduce it here, but Ghostrunner just got a free Steam demo. In the last episode, we selected Ghostrunner, so you can definitely try to view the demo.

Demon Maid
Wales Interactive, a studio known for FMV games, is currently taking a detour with Maid of Sker interactive video.
Sker Maid is a first-person survival horror game with amazing visual effects. It will take you to a 1800s hotel with a particularly dark history. The story of the game is inspired by Welsh legends. The story tells a girl whose father locked her in a room to keep her away from her lover. She is said to have died of heartbreak.
In Sker Maid, you are unprepared, so do n’t expect to carry any weapons. Instead, you will rely on location audio to locate and avoid danger. The game's AI will also use the same 3D audio technology to surround you, which will undoubtedly make these encounters more difficult.
The writers and designers of Soma and Battlefield 1 are dedicated to producing the maid of the creepy British horror story in Skye. There are multiple endings, and your actions will determine the path taken each time you stay at the hotel. Wales Interactive even invited singer Tia Kalmaru to record some modern interpretations of Wales ’famous hymns to truly double the specific atmosphere of the game.
The Sker Maid will land on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One this June. The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X versions will be visually enhanced, and on PC, you can play it at 4K and unlimited frame rate. There is also a Switch version, which will be released in October.
evil
Toadman recently released the first game trailer for the action-packed collaborative shooting game EvilvEvil. EvilvEvil lets vampires fight vampires and opens the door to rich supernatural abilities, which will complement the shootout. In the trailer, I found a pound on the ground, some oozing out, of course, was consuming the blood of the enemy.
Although it seems early, the game screen shows some action clips. This reminds me of the "Dark" game I rarely remember. I always think that if you enrich it, the functions you can play in these games will be very effective in cooperative games.
EvilvEvil is at least trying. There is no release date yet, but the trailer sounds like it started on a small scale and has grown with the help of community feedback. It is also free, so be sure to pay attention to it.
Alaros – champion of the four kingdoms
The humble Alaloth is one of the most ambitious projects we introduce here. At first glance, Alaloth looks like a standard top-down action RPG, where you can go deep into the dungeon to fight monsters and humans, but it is far more than that.
Alaloth's developers (with the help of Chris Avellone) have carefully designed various races, factions, alliances and prejudices. Every major player lives in a certain area of the game world. When drawing your own route, you will traverse the area in a mount and sword style.
The race you choose will determine the type of skills you can use, and you also need to choose a class, which will have a greater impact on the way you fight. Fighting is not just a clone of Diablo. Alaloth firmly relies on the systematic, endurance side, and every shot, interval, timing and load are important.
Factions bring faction reputation, and Alaloth allows you to build more reputation for more missions. You can also take your companions out to perform tasks.
Frankly, independent teams even try to compete in this range. If this sounds good, you can list Alaloth on Steam today. The game will launch on PC and Xbox One later this year.
Space Team VR
Imagine that the developers of Spaceteam VR watched the role-playing in "Star Trek": "Crew on the Bridge" and thought that creating an out-and-out analogue in exchange for the outspoken "Crew on the Bridge" was a piece Very interesting thing.
If you require someone to manage the federal spacecraft every day, what will happen to Spaceteam VR. The setup is simple: different missions on the ship require different positions, and the game will assign you a position. If you ca n’t do this job, you have to shout out loud what people need to do to operate other radio stations. This starts with a stupid range (from cleaning up the slime on the station or clumsy with a hammer to the entire technical operation of the ship's operation or even fighting).
Spaceteam VR is the VR version of the game of the same name on the phone. Although the two do not share a developer (it was blessed by the original creator), they are both multiplayer games, and they yell technical terms to your friends and hope they can parse it as soon as possible to get the job done.
Spaceteam VR will launch Oculus for Steam VR on May 21, including Oculus Quest. The game will also have a mobile client to allow those who do not own VR headsets to play in the same room as their friends. View on Steam.
Games to play this weekend
Kill it with fire
I ca n’t believe someone took so long to turn the term “kill it with fire” into a game, but I ’m glad Casey Donnellan Games did it. Killing it with fire is a very simple game about hunting and squeezing spiders.
Sometimes, you can do it with a pillow or a book. At other times, you will throw away grenades, fire pistols, or set explosives to further upgrade things. Of course, you can also use actual firepower. As you might have guessed, "killing it with fire" is more about looking after unnecessary collateral damage that spiders may cause at home.
This is a very effective setup, and you can try the demo game "Kill It with Fire: Ignition" for free through the free demo, which is now available on Steam. Kill it with Steam release on Steam this summer.
Land of black sky
"Black Skylands" is a top-down shooting game set in the open world of the flying world. Your spaceship is where most of the action takes place, and "Black Skylands" attempts to simulate real-world water navigation in airship mechanics. This basically means that the airship is handled like a boat.
Although you are free to use the cannon on board, you can also disassemble and attack the target face to face like any reliable top-down shooter. When you are not fighting, you will be busy farming, cleaning and maintaining your own house, which is another major part of the game.
However, when your house is attacked, the hard work you put into the shelter will not stop it from catching fire. In essence, this is a more violent star dew valley, where you can not only worry about crops and seasons, but also use a bullet gun to chase people.
The preface of the game "Land of Black Sky: Origins" is available for free download on Steam. This demo shows the core flight mechanism, let you know the main characters, of course, you can also start all farm work.
