Minecraft had around 140 million monthly active players at the end of 2021, making it one of the most successful games ever. Although we player
must define at this point: There are 140 million active human players and not cats or dogs.
Sound crazy? It really is. However, when it comes to TikToker Finance Friendly
(Liam Thompson) goes, that could soon change. In a video shows him trying to teach his dog Max to play Minecraft.

But before he can take this step, he first has to overcome a major hurdle: after all, Max can neither operate a mouse nor a keyboard precisely with his paws. Admittedly, using the mouse like a human would be overkill. But he can definitely use the keyboard – albeit a bit simplified:

How does the TikToker do that?
Finance Friendly first removes the keycaps on his keyboard. Not by any buttons that A
– and #
button he leaves as they are. This is to create a greater distance to the switches so that the next step can work.
Because the TikToker sticks a large piece of painted cardboard on the A and # keys. If there were also key caps on the other switches, A and # would no longer be able to trigger, since the stroke is simply too short and the cardboard is sitting on the other keys.
In Minecraft, Finance Friendly maps forward movement to the A key and left mouse button to #. Now the training can begin: Max should respond to the commands Destroy
(destroy) and Walk
(walk) hear. This is not easy to achieve, but with the support of treats, Max can ultimately be conditioned.

Can Max now play Minecraft?
In fact, Max can be trained to move and kill enemies on command. Admittedly, that’s very rudimentary, but you can’t really expect much more from a dog. In principle, we can therefore certify Finance Friendly as a success.
