Mario Kart 8 Deluxe adds 5 more characters

With wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC out in the wild, players noticed that some entries were missing from the character selector screen.

These entries are indicated by five question marks, indicating that more racers will be added in the future.

At least two more DLC waves are planned, so it seems like Nintendo will have to drop multiple racers in each wave.

The latest character to join the game is Birdo, who came with Wave 4, also joined the Fruit Cup and Boomerang Cup, formed by Tour Amsterdam Drift, GBA Riverside Park, Wii DK Summit, Yoshi’s Island, Tour Bangkok Rush, DS Mario Circuit, GCN Waluigi Stadium and Tour Singapore Speedway.

Booster Course Packs contain classic courses from the Mario Kart series, spanning the Wii, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS and the Mario Kart Tour series of games.

The pass consists of six separate waves of eight courses each, all due for release in late 2023. You can buy the Booster Course Pass with a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership or on the Nintendo eShop for $24.99.
