Even though it’s been almost six years since Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released in April 2017, Nintendo is still providing the long-running fun racer with fresh content. Apparently there are five more DLC characters on the plan.
Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has just been released and fresh content has been made available to players of the fun racer on the switch. At the same time, since then there has also been a clear indication of what we can expect in the future in terms of characters.
In the meantime, there are some entries in the selection screen that are simply grayed out with question marks. Accordingly, it is reasonable to assume that Nintendo is still preparing the release of five DLC characters for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
As part of the Booster Course Pass, two more DLC Waves are to be released later in 2023; these should then probably offer several characters at the same time.
In Wave 4, the character Birdo found its way into the game. There were also new Fruit and Boomerang Cups, which included the Tour Amsterdam Drift, GBA Riverside Park, Wii DK Summit, Yoshi’s Island, Tour Bangkok Rush, DS Mario Circuit, GCN Waluigi Stadium and Tour Singapore Speedway tracks.
The current DLC series is available via the Booster Course Pass in the eShop and contains six packs (Waves) with eight courses each from previous Mario Kart parts.
