Nintendo releases Booster Course Pass DLC Mario Kart 8 Deluxeand next to the DLC is an update that you need to play the new DLC.
Speaking of new DLC, you have to download it manually from the eShop. Why? Because apparently there is no other option.
After updating the game to version 2.0, to get the Booster Course Pack, you’ll need to go to the Switch eShop and search for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and manually download the new DLC.
If you’re a Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscriber, once you’re on the game’s eShop page, you’ll see options to download content. But remember: it’s free only if you’re a sub, so if you’re not, the pass will cost you $24.99. And that’s just the first wave of DLC, as it only includes the Golden Dash Cup, Lucky Cat Cup, and eight classes remastered from the Mario Kart series. A total of 48 remastered courses will be released in six waves by the end of 2023.
As for what to expect from the new update, not only does it support the new DLC, but it also fixes a communication error that occurred in 12-player matches when playing online. If you want to play the game online, you need to apply the new update whether or not you have purchased the DLC.
This update also contains fixes for issues that improve the gaming experience and other things not listed.
