A few weeks ago, a first trailer for the next DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was shown as part of the Direct conference. Now the specific content is just as clear as the release date.
The Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is entering a new round next week. Then, on July 12, 2023, Nintendo will release the Wave 5 DLC for the Funracer on the switch as part of the pass.
After a trailer at the Direct c onference gave a first glimpse of the new content, it is now clear what you can expect in the additional content. Not only three new characters, but also eight courses will be on board – including a completely new track with Squeaky Clean Sprint.
The three new drivers are Petey Piranha, Wiggler and Kamek. The former first appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! an appearance while Wiggler was last seen behind the wheel in Mario Kart 7. Kamek, meanwhile, is one of the playable characters in the mobile spin-off Mario Kart Tour, but was also previously represented in Mario Kart 64.
The last DLC of the Booster Course Pass was released in March. Back then there was also a brand new course in Yoshi’s Island and a returning rider in Birdo. After the July release, a sixth and final DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is on the program until the end of 2023.
