It sounds like we can expect to see Uncharted 2 movie sequel is coming sometime in our future, as Sully herself shared an update.
Although the Uncharted movie was a financial success from a critical standpoint, Sony called it a “hit film franchise,” strongly hinting at a sequel. While Sony itself has yet to confirm the news, Mark Wahlberg, who played Sully in the first film, seemed to confirm that a sequel is currently in development (via The Direct). When asked about a potential sequel, Wahlberg responded: “I’ve heard a lot of different ideas. I know someone wrote a script and they’re still working on it, and it includes growing a mustache the whole time. It makes total sense. ;Obviously, in the last scene, I had a mustache.”

To clarify here, Uncharted fans will obviously be aware that part of Sully’s look in the game is apparently his striking mustache, which only appears at the end of the film adaptation. Quality of the beard aside, Wahlberg did explain that he grew a beard himself, saying: “I spent quite a bit of time growing the beard because at one point, we tried to do it with a fake beard, but I don’t know . I just didn’t have the confidence to go through with it. It felt like there was a big piece of duct tape over my mouth and I felt ridiculous.”
He also noted that when he “finally grew the mustache, people really appreciated it. It was a great tag for the end of the movie. So, if we can make it better than the first one, you know, I’d love to be, but I only know so much right now as you know.” That last part isn’t technically correct because we didn’t know the script was in the works and he did, but hey, now we know anyway . Don’t count on a sequel just yet, though, the first one only came out last year, and if it’s still in the script stage, it likely won’t be shot until sometime next year.
