Marvel Rivals is set to shake up the hero shooter genre in December, but an important feature will apparently be missing at launch.
Marvel Rivals is the next promising representative of the hero shooter and wants to shake up the genre from December 6, 2024. The free-to-play title then has to do without one important feature: cross-progression.
This topic is often not that easy to implement – and the Marvel Rivals development team apparently also has this experience. Therefore, according to current statements from the creators, it currently does not look as if cross-platform sharing of game progress can be integrated.
In an interview with TheGamer For example, game director Guangyun Chen commented and confirmed: “At the moment we don’t have any cross-progression. We are currently doing the final technology check to see what we can do and how we can continue with it.”
Chen emphasizes that they ultimately want to have the feature in Marvel Rivals, but whether and when this can actually be implemented is currently still up in the air.
