Marvel Rivals is based on various game elements. The game director revealed this in an interview. These three key elements are intended to make the game unique.
- The three key elements are superheroes, destruction and team-ups.
- Team-ups enable cooperation between heroes.
- Marvel Rivals features PvP battles with superheroes from the Marvel universe.
The developers of Marvel Rivals are said to have set themselves the goal of standing out with three central elements. The game director spoke about these at the Summer Game Fest.
PcGamesN conducted the interview. According to Thaddeus Sasser, the game director, a key feature of Marvel Rivals are the various team-ups.
Different characters have special powers that they can activate together. For example, Rocket Raccoon is said to be able to provide infinite ammunition for Punisher’s tower, and Iron Man can convert Hulk’s gamma radiation into an energy beam.
These team-ups are intended to evolve over time, with new characters being added and existing ones changing.

Destruction as the second key element
Another key element is destruction. The environment in Marvel Rivals is dynamic and destructible, which gives the game additional strategic depth. This not only provides visual effects, but also significantly influences the gameplay.
The third main factor is said to be the superheroes themselves. Marvel Rivals offers intense 6v6 battles in which you can compete as iconic heroes like Spider-Man and Hulk. These characters bring their unique skills and personalities to the game, which should make for varied and exciting battles.
NetEase also plans to continue to develop the story of Marvel Rivals through regular updates and new seasons. Each new season will introduce new story arcs that affect gameplay and character interactions.
As the story develops, NetEase could add more characters than the heroes already known. It is also possible that this symbiote will appear in the game.
